First, as a reminder, a Reverse Mortgage is a financial tool that allows a borrower, 62 and older to access a portion of the equity in your home and pay it back only when you no longer live in the home. The amount of money available to you increases with age – so at 82, you get access to more equity than at 62.

HEADLINE:   More Reverse Mortgage Changes

If you are a regular reader, you know that my last two articles addressed the changes taking place in the Reverse Mortgage industry.  The competition is heating up as lenders are providing potentially more benefit to borrowers in order to gain market share.

Reverse mortgages are regulated by the government and as such, had limited variability among the lenders.

Is It time?

HEADLINE:  Is It time?

As I write today’s article (Tuesday morning), the stock market is plummeting -  again. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is well below 10,000 -- again.  And it’s unnerving.  Just when I thought my portfolio was returning to an upward trend, its value is down -- again.

If you are 62 or older, you may be even more uneasy since there is less time to see a recovery.   Wouldn’t it be nice to have financial peace of mind – again?
